SKIMMERS, BOTTOM DRAINS AND FIlTRATION OPTIONS
With correct filtration and equipment installed you can build a pond that will never need to be drained and cleaned yearly saving money in the long run.
Skimmers collect surface debris. Skimmers are installed in every pond. They have a catch basket for leaves, excess food and protein foam. We typically cover skimmers with a faux rock to blend in with the perimeter rocks and easy accessibility to maintain.
Bottom drains collect bottom debris and anything that falls to the bottom of your pond. Bottom drains are another reason why we do not put gravel or rocks in the bottom of the pond. They keep the floor clear of debris and build up.
Both of these features are installed in conjunction with external filtration equipment. They allow for easy maintenance.
Pressure filters allow for easy maintenance and creates a healthy environment for your pond. We offer a variety of filters that will achieve your desired water clarity.
EXTERNAL PUMPS AND ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT OPTIONS
We install external pumps for easy access and maintenance. They offer higher flow rates and larger debris baskets that allow for maintenance without having to go into your pond. Additionally, external pumps and filters can be installed a distance away from the pond.
Ultraviolet lights (UV) are utilized eliminate green water algae in your pond allowing crystal clear water through the summer months. As the water is passed through the ultraviolet light it kills single-celled algae and helps to sterilize your pond water. The UV lights are normally replaced every two years to ensure optimum output efficiency.
CONCRETE COLLARED PONDS
One of our unique designs is utilizing concrete collars in our builds.
A concrete collar is added to prolong the durability of your pond. We install a concrete collar around the perimeter of your pond during the initial construction or renovation. Once the collar is in, we place the geotextile underlayment and EPDM rubber liner in the pond and over the concrete collar. This allows as a sturdy base for us to place the rocks and capstones around the pond. A stable base for the large capstones prevents longterm settling and extends the life of your pond.
